Monica, Master STylist/Salon Manager, Wallingford
Monica graduated from the Glen Dow Academy of Spokane in 2007. Soon after she moved to Seattle, and spent two years in advanced certification of Aveda’s curriculum for hair cutting and hair color techniques. It was during this time that she earned her Instructor’s License and taught at the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute. Being able to teach is one of her true passions and she takes the time to educate her guests on product application and styling methods to recreate their look outside of the salon. Staying on top of the latest trends with high end classes in balayage, razor/precision cutting, and barbering gives her a wide range of tools to use to construct your vision together.
Understanding that the best way to facilitate change is to create your own, you might not see Monica with the same style twice. It is her own constant change that makes her an expert in transitional haircuts and colors. Whether you are moving from short hair to long, brunette to blonde, highlights to balayage, or just wanting to grow out your natural hair color, Monica will help you transition smoothly into your ideal style. Her love for art and awareness of form give her an edge in bringing creativity to your look.
Although she loves the bustle of the city, she typically enjoys a peaceful evening with her pups or working on projects around her house.
Favorite Product: Control Force! While you can use it for its firm hold, it is brush-able and soft, has 24 hour humidity defense, and can be restyled and layered without getting flaky. Everyone should have a bottle of this on hand!
