Alida, Master Stylist, Queen Anne
Alida became a professional cosmetologist in 2010, graduating from the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute. She traveled overseas to attend advanced courses at the Aveda Academy in London and has attended many advanced classes offered through Aveda and Chroma.
Alida's favorite services include balayage coloring techniques (painting on the hair) and textured haircuts, though she has experience with a bit of every style and color of the rainbow! For Alida, the most fulfilling part of her work is connecting with a guest, and creating beautiful hairstyles and relationships. Alida has a background in both the arts and cosmetology. She feels her experience in painting, drawing, and design are everyday attributes of her vision in hairstyling.
Growing up in Seattle, it is no surprise, Alida loves to be in nature! You can find her hiking in the mountains or running around a park in her free time. She is also very passionate about birds: Alida volunteers at a parrot sanctuary where she gets to help feed (and play) with hundreds of them! Being surrounded by all of this beauty has inspired her to paint, which is her favorite medium to use when creating visual art. She also enjoys cooking at home and trying out different recipes!
Favorite Aveda product: Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother—she uses it everyday on herself and in the salon. Living in a rainy city does not help when it comes to frizzy hair! Style-Prep Smoother is magic in a bottle when you want to smooth out hair without weighing it down.
